Hmm... where to begin.
The past weekend has been busy, along with work! I'll just start from the top.
My mom arrived in Raleigh late Friday night. We hung out a little bit, then went to bed. She went to the barn with me in the morning, then we came back and went out to Smithfield's BBQ for lunch. We both went to see the movie Twilight, since we had read the books. The movie was great- very true to the books! We went to church on Sunday, then out to lunch with friends afterwards. Later in the day, we took the dogs for a walk around Lake Johnson (it was a little cold).
Mom spent the day at work with me yesterday, it was so fun having her here (everyone really liked her). Ken even gave her some testing work to do! She planned to go to the Art Museum after lunch, but it ended up being closed, so she just hung out in the lab for the rest of the day. When I got home, Dad and Mimi were waiting at the house for us to arrive. We had pineapple terriaki chicken for dinner, then went to bed a little bit early.
Work has been busy, which is a good thing. I've been learning destruction, so I can write documentation on it. I can't really elaborate on it, suffice to say its actually very fun. I pretty much get to create things, then blow it up later! I really don't mind the documentation, either. I'm hoping I can move into the design department next year, after our product is realeased.

A little poem

Shibidy Dibidy
Ok, for some reason, I don't really like Thursdays. I guess it's because we're close to Friday, but not quite there. Hmm.
I'm so excited for the weekend! My mom comes in tomorrow night. I got all sheets and blankets washed, rooms cleaned, and put towels in the laundry. I hope everyone likes the house and is comfortable! I have to say, most the house is pretty clean, except vacuuming, which we'll do tomorrow night, since the dog hair piles up so quick! Needless to say, I'm excited! Also, we're going to the barn Saturday morning, then to see Twilight that afternoon! YAY! On Sunday, we're going to meet Leiha at the dog park, or a dog place called Unleashed if it's too cold.
I have absolutely nothing interesting to add. Ian is a little mad at me right now, because I'm going to the barn instead of the neighborhood meeting (like I'd pick sitting in a meeting over playing with the ponies!) I'm sure he'll give me updates! Anyway, ciao!

Bibbity Bobbity Boo
Well, here I am again at work in the morning. We've been coming in at 7am instead of 8am several days a week now, which is hard (but at least I can leave at 4!) The new people seem to be working out ok, thankfully they don't talk a whole lot. The lab gets to go out to lunch today, company treat! (I wonder if they have $50 steak...)
I didn't do a bunch last night. I went to the barn for awhile. Rocket behaved pretty well, although I forgot to grab the whip before mounting, so he was a bit stubborn. Brittney was out there riding PJ with me, so its really nice having someone to ride with (her family owns Rocket). Rocket and I are getting better together. The hardest thing is keeping Rocket's head round, which is a key component in dressage. We'll get there, tho- we have time! He was a little cranky after the ride last night, but he still got a few carrots. I'll head out there again on Thursday.
I'm really excited for everyone to come and visit for Thanksgiving. It'll be busy and stressful, but I can't wait to see my family. I'm still attempting to plan dinner, which is a little overwhelming. At least we got the turkey (we ended up getting 1 12lb turkeys, not much of a selection- but the grand total was $10!) Thanksgiving dinner is hard on a budget.
Not much else going on today. Once again, I have quite a bit of work to do. I'm going through my 100+ page documentation and updating it for the new editor. Fun!

La la la
Ok, so I promised a post about my weekend. Busy weekend, too!
We set out for Heidi & Ken's place on Friday night and arrived there around 10pm. We went out to a bar and had a bite to eat. The next morning we got to sleep in a bit, and just chill out. We went out to lunch at a great sub place. We left Richmond in the late afternoon to head to the DC area for Cirque du Soleil's Kooza show. It was so AMAZING! Music was great, clowns were hilarious, performers were incredible. My favorite were the young contortionists, they had so much strength and grace. I also loved the wheel of death, absolutely amazing! After the show we headed back to Richmond, and got there around 1am. We again got to sleep in the next morning, then go to a great italian sandwich shop. We headed back to Raleigh and got home around dinner time. Overall, a really great weekend. Its amazing how fast it goes by!!!
I'm beginning to write a Christmas letter this year. Its hard, never having written one. I've also got a wish list going, as well as a gift list for family. I'm going a little crazy cleaning this week, and I also need to plan out the Thanksgiving day dinner. I'm a bit nervous, considering I've never cooked anything near that much food, and for that many people! Regardless, I'm so excited to see everyone, I miss my family so much.
Thats about all I have for now. We had some new people start in the lab yesterday, they're really nice and catch on quick. It'll be a change getting used to new people. It's a bit crowded. I'm heading out to the barn tonight to work with Rocket. It's really become one of the highlights of my week. I feel so happy and worry-free out there, it's nice!

La Dee Da
Well, I'm writing again. Mainly because I'm bored. And I'm really tired. Naomi came over last night and put blue streaks in my hair again, it always looks really awesome, she's a great hairstylist and friend.
Work is pretty boring, very slow today. We're getting 2 new computers set up for the new people starting in the lab on Monday. Guy and a girl, seem like nice people. I'm totally ready for the day to be done, though. I love Fridays, but they always seem to drag out a little bit.
I'm really looking forward to getting away for the weekend and seeing Heidi and Ken. Cirque du Soleil should be a lot of fun, too- Ian has never seen it before. I hope he enjoys it. I made him promise to let me get a souvenier program, they're the best things to get, really.
On Monday, my friend Leiha (organizer of our dog meetup group) and I went back and forth trying to save a little white chihuahua mix from animal control. He was going to be put down on Tuesday. I was able to order his rabies shot, and Leiha drove 45 minutes to go out and get him. he's a healthy little dog, and looks just like Bridgett! He's been staying with Leiha for a few days, hoping her brother in law would adopt him. However, her brother in law isn't ready for the commitment, so the chihuahua (named Drake) needs a new home. Fortunately, Leiha's best friend (who is sadly in New York) is an animal lover and looking for a small dog. He comes down for Thanksgiving, and will meet Drake. Hopefully it'll work out, and little Drake will get an awesome home. He's a great little dog!
I don't have much else to update since yesterday. I went out to the barn last night and rode for a little bit, Rocket was actually pretty well behaved. I rode until a family named the Simpsons came into the ring. Let me tell you a little about the Simpson family. The mom, dad, and little girl usually come out, but occasionally their son with come out too. The little girl is around 9-10, and the boy is probably in his early teens. They own a spirited black and white appaloosa pony named Oreo (creative, I know). They will take the poor pony into the ring, and the mom and daughter will sit there and scream at each other. It mostly ends up in the daughter crying. Yesterday, it took them 20 minutes to mount their horse, and they've owned it for over 3 years. The family isn't rude, but they are inexperienced and know nothing about riding, much less about owning and training a horse. The horse has thrown the girl and kicked the mom, both receiving stitches on multiple occasions. They tend to chase people out of the ring, as they don't have control of 'Oreo', and Rocket begins to get a little nervous (me too). *sigh* There's your barn drama!
Anyway, I need to build a level (as I want to go into design soon) so I need to head out. Hopefully the trip this weekend will go well, and be really fun. Much love and see you Monday :)

Ho Hum
Ok, so I have a new blog. I kind of let the old ones go, and its much easier to start fresh. I'm leaving out the background story, and figured I'd just update the oh-so-exciting happenings of my life.
Well, Ian and I bought a house in May. We've mostly unpacked, although we're still going through things like hanging up pictures. There is so much we want to do, we don't even know where to start! In spring we plan to plant a tree and a few flowers, to liven up the front yard. It's pretty bare right now. We also want to build a small fence and redo our deck. *sigh* I'm still very happy we have the house, and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
I work at Destineer Studios (http://www.destineerstudios.com/) in the QA department. I really enjoy my job, and don't mind coming to work. I'm working on a portfolio and hope to gradually make my way into level design. I love problem solving and being creative, so I think its a great way to go. My coworkers are all nice, which is a relief. Somehow, its easier working in a male dominated field. At least I can come to work in a sweatshirt.
The 4-legged kids we have are doing wonderful, as normal. Little Chili seems to get into everything (including the trash). Even though he had his 3rd birthday in October, he still acts like a puppy. He usually has at least 2 toys in every room in the house, and when I put them away he takes them right back out. He's been curling up under the sheets with me at night, which is like having a little furry heater under the covers. Bridg
ett is her usual self. She loves being around me, and is generally happy, albeit neurotic. She's discovered the piles of leaves outside, and loves jumping and walking through them. She's gotten really used to wearing her sweater in the house, too. We recently took the pups to a Howl-O-Ween doggie event with our Toy Dogs of Raleigh meetup group. They both dressed up as Thing 1 and Thing 2, and ended up winning 3rd place in the contest! They were adorable.
I'm currently leasing a horse named Rocket. He is a 12 year old thoroughbred ex-racehorse, and has the sweetest personality. We are now riding Dressage, and hope to train and pass the training level dressage test eventually. I love going out to the barn to see him, I have so much fun!
Ian is doing well and enjoying his job at ferguson. He works pretty long hours, so is pretty tired by the time he comes home. Needless to say, he cooks more than half the time, and its always good! We were able to go to the Flobots concert on Monday night (http://www.flobots.com/) and it was amazing. Very good concert. The band has a great message.
We are going up to Richmond, VA tomorrow to visit Ian's sister, Heidi. I love seeing her, we have a lot in common. We'll be seeing the new Cirque du Soleil show, Kooza, in Washington DC on Saturday night. We'll head back to Raleigh on Sunday, just in time for work on Monday (oh, joy).
